There’s a sweet little eatery in Bryanston called The Local Kitchen Co that I frequent for tummy hugs quite often. On days when my office bound self is too busy to go out for a meal during the day I order and have these babies delivered to the office. Who said meal on the “run” hadsto be yuk?

The Burger Sliders:

1. Beef patty with bacon and cheese. 2. Beef patty with avocado and pepperdew. 3. I usually ask for chicken patty here, with creamy jalepeno topping. So delicious.

Their entire menu is well worth a try, and the smoothies are so fresh and yum.

By now you know my boo, Kendrick Lamar,  is coming to our shores next week hosted by Miller & Airey Scott’s BoomTown. You also know that there’s a hot local line-up for the show including everyone’s favourite rappers Khuli Chana and Reason.

Did you see the electric performance with K.Dot and Imagine Dragon at the Grammy’s last week? I thought I was giddy before, but after seeing that, I’m literally going to pee in my pants from hysteric excitement. Okay, maybe not, but you get my point.

Anyway, now that I’ve calmed down to mild panic, I’m giving away two tickets to the Johannesburg leg of the Good kid m.A.A.D city tour to one lucky reader.

The competition is super easy peasy, I promise. I hate working too hard to win things so I won’t put you through any of that.

All you have to do is: (BOTH)

1. Comment on this post with favourite Kendrick Lamar track, hook or line. No need to explain yourself, just promise me you’re singing along out loud while you type 🙂

2. Tweet or Facebook the link to this post and include the hottest hashtag on the streets rights right now #MILLERBOOMTOWN

EASY NE? Competition closes Monday 3 February at 1pm. Random selection. I’ll announce the winner at 5pm and we’ll figure out delivery.

and GO…

I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing this film tonight.

Whenever I see any African films or creative work, I am drawn. Unfortunately I don’t make enough of an effort to experience our continent’s creativity.

Here’s to celebrating African imagination, every day.

Hopefully I won’t be a stranger to my blog and actually tell you all about it… Otherwise here’s the trailer

Winter sunlight. Rooftop Garden. Banging Music. Beautiful people. A drink or three.

This is what we are doing this Sunday. The KoolOut gang are back with the Koolin in the City Sundays and the new venue they’ll be hosting the session has me very excited.

I have BEEN meaning to check out the popular rooftop garden lounge for ages and now I have a better than ever reason to.

I’m back.

June has been a blessed a beautiful month of sleep, family time, reading, eating,  being with friends and quality time with my wondeful family and most importantly – me time.

I quit my job. And have taken a month off the rat race to collect myself and rest.

Now in the fourth and final week of my hibernation I am coming out of my cave and peeking out at the world.

It is amazing how undervalued time off is. Taking time to be quiet, to be still and allow the self to refocus and energise. I am so thankful that I had this time.

Start the new month with a new job and a new lease on life. Renewed passion and focus.

Will blog all the interesting things I got up to when I chose to get out of bed, for now, back to my bed and book.

I have this friend right
Her name is Refilwe Moloto
She’s smart, she’s hot, she’s hilarious, she’s witty, she’s friendly, she’s honest, she super awesome. When you put all this together, you have theeeee best facebook status updates in the WORLD. No, really.

Every day, I make sure I log in to facebook just to see her version of the world and every single one is a gem that needs its own religion. Even the comments are always on point and explode with brilliance

So today, another masterpiece happened. and here it is… (hope you don’t mind R.)

You can thank me later…

An hour’s drive out of Joburg and it feels like being 20 hours away, not just here in Magaliesberg

Mount Grace Hotel and Spa is one of the most incredible I’ve been to in a while. The setting is spectacular and tranquil, the views breathtaking, the Spa is world-class, staff are friendly and attentive without being overly familiar. I had one incredible weekend and can’t wait to go back!

It was only interesting to find out that Boy’s Town is located just down the road.

Here are some pictures.
